As a Principal Manufacturing Engineer your overall responsibilities will include:
- Developing and improving manufacturing processes by studying products and manufacturing methods
- Analyzing product specifications to determine appropriate designs and processes that support customer requirements
- Developing, testing, modifying, and creating solutions through a collaborative effort with various stakeholders
Additional responsibilities include:
- Leading factory wide strategic improvement projects
- Managing large scale design, control and improvements to the manufacturing process
- Developing Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool and fixture designs
- Establishing engineering design requirements tailored to manufacturing processes
- Supporting manufacturing areas daily with process troubleshooting, incorporation of engineering changes into the MDP
- Leading Non-conforming Material Analyses and Continuous Improvement efforts
- Providing real-time technical support to in-house and supply base stakeholders
- Developing influential relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically Requires a Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
- Experience creating technical documentation
- Experience leading teams or projects
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Knowledge and ability to apply CORE principles and techniques
- Technical drawing interpretation, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with technical writing
- Proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools (preference for CREO/ProE)
- Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to work across disciplines
- Innovative mindset that drives continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and keeps pace with advances in technology
- Ability to work in a team environment with strong organizational and presentation skills

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
