Responsibilities:
Perform machine setup, automated lay-up, manual hand lay-up, and operation of motorized equipment for fabrication of aerospace parts from carbon fiber, fiberglass, and other lightweight materials.
Fabricate and assemble composite detail parts and subassemblies using blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
Conduct sheet metal fabrication, machining, tube bending, and extrusion tasks.
Assemble precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components, including power plants and drive trains.
Prepare test articles, fixtures, and data collection devices to support testing requirements.
Perform basic chemical conversion, paint prep, and apply organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance.
Work on articles of moderate complexity in accordance with engineering specifications and drawings.
Select appropriate materials, tools, standards, hardware, and assemblies per the work package and planned operations.
Identify and report workmanship issues, material defects, or process deviations per standard procedures.
Maintain FOD-free, clean, and organized work area while following all safety protocols (e.g., use of PPE such as safety glasses, respirators, harnesses).
Coordinate work and pass-down information across shifts.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 5 years experience in drilling sheet metal, composite, and titanium materials.
At least 1 year of related aerospace or manufacturing experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
Familiar with composite fabrication methods, including automated lay-up machines, hand lay-up, and NC equipment.
Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) 100 of the time.
Must maintain FOD compliance and adhere to cleanroom and safety standards.
