About this position
The Supervisor, Crew Planning is responsible for scheduling and training administration of the Canadian North Pilots and Flight Attendants.
Reporting to: Manager, Flight Operations Administration

Duties and Responsibilities:
Must be able to perform, but not be limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:
- Ensuring safety is the primary objective by adhering to the Canadian North safety policy and utilizing the appropriate safety reporting program in order to identify and communicate all known hazards and risks to the organization;
- Ensuring continual improvement through the periodic review of all crew planning processes;
- Ensuring Crew Planners are kept current with pilot and flight attendant Collective Bargaining Agreements;
- Ensuring that Crew Planners execute their duties with a positive and supportive approach when interacting with the pilots and flight attendants;
- Projecting future training and vacation requirements for pilots and flight attendants;
- Generating vacation bids for pilots and flight attendants;
- Creating forecast report for crew requirements per base from projected aircraft pairings;
- Producing financial report forecasting all costs (i.e. positioning, per diem and accommodations);
- Assist with Tracking and scheduling of crew training;
- Generating pairings for pilots and flight attendants for the bid month;
- Assisting crew planners when required to create schedules for pilots and flight attendants for the bid month;
- Creating/Updating Crew Planning SOPs
- Coverage for Crew Planners for illness/vacation etc
- Assisting Charter Sales and Executives through crew analysis for potential business and schedule changes;
- Ensuring that accidents, incidents or hazards are reported appropriately and within a timely manner;
- Assisting with safety investigations; and
- First point of contact for CUPE/ALPA in regards to pilot/flight attendant scheduling questions/concerns
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent related work experience
- Two (2) years of previous experience
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines, required
- Knowledge of scheduling, planning and training standards, required
- Knowledge of CARs considered an asset
- Previous airline experience, required
- Knowledge of AIMS considered a strong asset
- Experience working in Excel, required
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational skills and decision-making skills
- Strong analytical skills and acute attention to detail
- Ability to communicate in Inuktitut a definite asset
- Ability to obtain and retain a Restricted Area Identity Card in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada
