Job PurposeFleet Technical Management at Emirates comprises five specialized teams dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of service and reliability for our fleet.
Airframe Systems: Handles mechanical systems including flight controls, landing gear, and air conditioning.
Structures: Supports aircraft structures, including repairs and modifications for metallic and composite parts.
Avionics: Manages avionics systems, including navigation, communications, and advanced IFE systems.
Powerplant: Oversees engines and APUs, focusing on health monitoring and optimization.
Cabin: Maintains passenger cabins, flight decks, and retrofits, ensuring top-notch comfort and functionality.
Each team ensures our fleet operates efficiently and safely, meeting all technical and service standards.
As a Programme Manager you will manage and successfully deliver assigned Cabin Reconfiguration projects and solutions, in compliance with the project standards and processes of the Emirates Engineering department, to meet defined business requirements within agreed timescales and cost. You will lead the Project throughout the project phases from initiation to closure; support and enhancement of the complete solution.
In this role you will:
- Ensure delivery of assigned programmes, coordinating with business users, other departments of the Emirates Group, suppliers, and other sections of Engineering.
- For each programme, ensure project plans are realistic, maintained, and properly resourced, delivery is within time and cost, and projects are carried out through the defined phases, fully complying with the processes, procedures, regulations, and guidelines required by Emirates Engineering.
- Solutions meet agreed requirements and customer/stakeholder expectations, are maintainable and meet documented and agreed criteria.
- Conduct business analysis activities to evaluate final requirements and ensure defined solutions are maintainable, meet agreed specifications and criteria, and align with customer/stakeholder expectations.
- Ensure risks are assessed and mitigation/management strategies are designed. Similarly, quality audits are planned, and change management is adequately addressed, and thorough quality reviews and audits are conducted.
- Timely and accurate project information and reporting are provided to Engineering Management/Leadership.
- Implementation and training support is organised as required by and agreed with the business.
- Ensure that assigned systems are adequately supported to meet Service Level Objectives. Contribute to the improvement of systems, procedures, and standards to improve departmental capabilities.
- Carry out post-implementation reviews to ensure solutions are fit-for-purpose and in-service issues are identified with agreed remedial plans as required. Participate in service reviews for external suppliers.
- Provide fair and accurate feedback to line managers on the performance of resources assigned to programmes to help those in the performance management of their reports.
QualificationTo be considered for the role you must meet the below requirements:
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent).
- More than 8 years of professional experience in an Engineering/Aeronautical environment.
- Preferably a minimum of 5 years in a Programme Management function, ideally with experience in Cabin retrofits.
- Knowledge of the latest technical developments and industry trends on respective systems.
- Ability to analyse and synthesise technical information for implementation in cost-effective ways.
- Excellent drafting/report writing skills.
- Demonstrable experience in managing complex tasks and decision making in a fast-paced environment
