Position – Lead Inspector (Aircraft Maintenance / MRO)
The Lead Inspector is responsible for overseeing and performing aircraft inspections in a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) environment. This role ensures all maintenance and modification work is completed in compliance with FAA regulations, company standards, and airworthiness requirements while supporting heavy maintenance operations on widebody aircraft.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform aircraft inspections during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities
- Lead and support inspection personnel during heavy maintenance operations
- Inspect aircraft, components, and maintenance work to ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company standards
- Review maintenance documentation, work packages, and completed repairs for accuracy and compliance
- Read and interpret maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, SRMs, and technical documentation
- Ensure proper completion of inspection records and maintenance documentation
- Coordinate with maintenance and production teams to resolve discrepancies and support project completion
- Conduct return-to-service inspections and verify airworthiness requirements are met
- Assist in training and mentoring inspection personnel
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
- Other duties as assigned

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification
High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 4+ years of aircraft inspection or maintenance experience required
- Widebody aircraft experience required
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license required
- Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred
- Military aircraft maintenance or inspection experience considered
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and aircraft inspection procedures
- Experience performing inspections in an MRO or heavy maintenance environment
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, SRMs, engineering drawings, and technical documentation
- Experience reviewing maintenance documentation and airworthiness records
- Strong understanding of aircraft systems, structures, and maintenance practices
- Ability to identify discrepancies and ensure corrective actions are completed properly
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance
- Leadership experience or ability to guide and support inspectors and technicians
- Must provide own tools
- Ability to lift, stand, and work in various physical positions throughout the shift
