Position – Sr. A&P Mechanic IA (Piston Aircraft)
Location: Jacksonville, FL
The Sr. A&P Mechanic IA is responsible for performing advanced maintenance, inspections, and repairs on piston aircraft in a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) environment. This role requires strong experience in general aviation, the ability to work independently, and Inspection Authorization (IA) privileges to perform and approve inspections.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul on piston aircraft systems and components
- Conduct annual and progressive inspections in accordance with FAA regulations
- Approve aircraft for return to service under Inspection Authorization (IA) privileges
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical discrepancies and determine corrective actions
- Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and technical data
- Remove and replace aircraft components as required
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation of all maintenance performed
- Work independently in a fast-paced MRO or shop environment
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
- Other duties as assigned

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification
High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 5+ years of general aviation (piston aircraft) maintenance experience required
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license required
- Inspection Authorization (IA) required
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of piston aircraft systems and general aviation maintenance practices
- Experience performing annual inspections and IA sign-offs
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals and technical documentation
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems
- Ability to perform inspections, repairs, and component replacements independently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance
- Ability to work in a fast-paced MRO or shop environment
- Must provide own tools
- Ability to lift, stand, and work in various physical positions throughout the shift
