Responsibilities:
- Perform close tolerance drilling, reaming, installation, and removal on critical structural and fracture-critical components
- Locate and drill blind holes for installation of structural hardware on existing aircraft structures
- Execute sealing, painting, shimming, and preservation processes per repair standards
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, and process specifications
- Perform structural modifications and repairs using approved procedures and retrofit requirements
- Utilize tooling, fixtures, and assemblies for depot-level repair and modification work
- Troubleshoot and repair aircraft mechanical components and support component replacement
- Perform sheet metal and structural repairs on aircraft assemblies
- Use precision tools and test equipment, including torque wrenches, micrometers, dial indicators, and tensiometers
- Access and update aircraft maintenance systems for parts, discrepancies, and documentation
- Maintain required certifications, licenses, and work authorizations
- Follow safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and hazardous energy control procedures
- Work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and lift up to 35 lbs as required
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience working with non-porous metals (aluminum, titanium, stainless steel)
- 3+ years of experience interpreting schematics, assembly drawings, and technical specifications
- 3+ years of experience using aircraft structural hand tools (drills, countersink cages, rivet guns, hole finders, pancake adapters)
- 3+ years of experience performing heavy structures work (drilling, countersinking, fastening components such as doublers, stringers, webs, seat tracks)
- Ability to work variable shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
- Live aircraft experience
- Experience with Depot Level/Heavy Structures maintenance or components
- Operate a forklift, mobile crane, and riding type electric powered elevating equipment to accomplish work assignment
