Job Summary
Join our Menomonee Falls, WI Engineering team as a Principal Mechanical Engineer. We are looking for someone to take on a technical leadership role in projects which covers a variety of activities including design, packaging, component placement, cooling, and shock isolation for various naval power electronics assemblies.

What You Will Do
- Responsible for driving technology and completion of activity on time and budget
- Ability to complete a technical project independently and mentor and coach other engineers
- Review customer specifications and requirements, and develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable
- Document component and subsystem specifications and material requirements
- Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services
- Develop prototypes to retire key development risks
- Communicate clearly with manufacturing, supply chain, program management and the customer as required
- Participates heavily in preparation of the more complex and significant proposals
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
- 10+ years relevant experience with design and packaging of medium to large power electronics or conversion systems
- Understanding of vibration, acoustics, and thermal analysis for high power electronics packaging to meet military environments
- Experience with 3-D CAD, thermal modeling, simulation and analysis with CFD packages
- 3D CAD experience, NX preferred
- Knowledgeable of design/production of bus bars, aluminum and steel enclosures
- Design optimization of noise, thermal, and EMI design parameters
