General Maintenance Worker CBA Contract
The General Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry and electrical work. Work involves a variety of the following duties: Replacing electrical receptacles, switches, fixtures and motors; using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings; repairing or replacing sinks and clearing blocked sewer drainage lines, water coolers and toilets; painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps and sidewalks; replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles; hanging doors and installing door locks; replacing broken window panes; and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery.

Reports to: Facilities Maintenance Supervisor

Responsibilities
- Perform facilities repair and preventive maintenance requiring mechanical, electrical, plumbing, welding, loading dock doors, signs, fuels, sheet metal, masonry, roofing, electronic, generators, carpentry and plastering maintenance and repair.
- Assist skilled plumbers, electricians and other maintenance staff in performing more complex maintenance, repair and construction activities.
- Paint buildings and equipment, patch plaster walls and repair or replace tiles and other wall coverings.
- Repair and construct wood and metal equipment, furniture, doors, shelves, floors, security screens and other fixtures.
- Replace electrical receptacles, switches, bulbs, fixtures and motors
- Open blocked sewage and drain lines; replace or repair faucets, toilets, sinks, valves, water lines and other plumbing equipment and fixtures.
- Repair roofs, gutters, and downspouts
- Maintain and repair base-entrance security barriers and arms
- Repair and replace electrical outlets, light fixtures, switches and other controls, repair electrical motors.
- Working knowledge of machines, equipment, materials, and operating practices.
- Repair, adjust and calibrate a wide variety of machines and equipment such as general office equipment, electronic equipment, kitchen appliances, etc.
- Be familiar with the Quality Control/Customer Satisfaction Plan (QC/CSP) requirements and perform QC/CS actions are required.
- Follow written and verbal instructions.
- May be required to participate in an on-call schedule
- Perform duties unrelated to the job classification as needed.
- Perform other related work as assigned.
