Were looking for an Aircraft Maintenance Technician- Avionics, to join our evening shift team at the Twin Otter Final Assembly in Calgary, AB. This shift runs Monday-Thursday, 3:00pm-1:30am.
Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical wire and systems installation tasks under the supervision of a licensed Avionics Technician
- Take direction verbally and through printed media
- Understand Standard Wiring Practices and Avionics Systems, accurately interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, system schematics, engineering orders, test documents, manufacturer’s installation manuals.
- Have a basic understanding of other aircraft systems i.e. hydraulic, flight controls and major components
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems and equipment, including communication, navigation, flight control, and entertainment systems
- Repair, fabricate parts and components; fabricate per drawings and standard practices wire bundles and assemblies to include spaning of wires, properly securing wires into bundles, and termination of wires into a variety of contacts and connectors
- Perform system checks and inspections to ensure avionics systems are in compliance with industry and safety standards
- Keep accurate records of all work performed and maintain inventory of tools and equipment
- Maintain a clean work area, and alert the leadership team of any safety concerns; take immediate action or report immediately any unsafe conditions
- Ensuring both accuracy and traceability of parts removed or installed on Aircraft
- Properly utilize Avionics test equipment to perform systems tests. Properly utilize and maintain Avionics hand tools to perform installations and repairs
- Safely operate ground support equipment, i.e. Power carts, lifts (when properly trained), etc. as required
- Perform other work as assigned
Education & Experience
- Shall hold an AME E Transport Canada license or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of experience in an assembly or aircraft manufacturing environment, or maintenance environment (wiring repair, fabrication, and installation)
- Experience with Garmin avionics suite
- Experience working with Twin Otters is considered an asset
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
- Possess knowledge expected of an Aircraft Avionics and Electronics Technician on aircraft types handled by the Company
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in confined spaces, weather changes, heights, and around chemicals
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs
- Ability to acquire a Transport Canada issued Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
