Performs a combination of manual and clerical shipping and receiving duties. Uses paper and computer system for tracking, logging, verifying and
reporting. Follows shipping practices and procedures and transportation routing, schedules and requirements. Receives incoming materials and
prepares materials for shipment.
Responsibilities
Compiles records concerned with quantity, cost and type of material received in stock, or issued.
Requisitions needed supplies; verifies material received to determine irregularities in order; verifies quantity, weight and conformance of materials
to stated identifications, logs receipt of items on system, processes freight bills, packing sheets and other documents.
Inspects articles and rejects defective ones
Prepares inventory records and reports and investigates discrepancies in stock counts
Uses computer and material/production tracking software; uses Fed Ex power ship, UPS, DHL
Coordinates with organizations such as FedEx, UPS and DHL
Prepares commercial invoices and shipping tickets
Works within guidelines of DOT
Assist in stockroom as needed
