Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Loads & Dynamics Engineer (T05). This position is located in Roy, Utah and supports the Sentinel program.
What You’ll Get To Do.
As part of the Sentinel AVE Loads & Environments team, your technical expertise and analytical prowess will play a vital role in loads/dynamics analysis and derivation, including rigid body analysis and coupled loads analysis (CLA). This position invites a forward-thinking professional who is eager to tackle complex challenges and deliver innovative solutions that advance the future of structural dynamics for the Sentinel Program.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You Will Bring These Qualifications:
Staff Loads & Dynamics Engineer: Bachelors degree in related field with 12 years of experience; or Masters degree with 10 year of experience; or PhD with 8 years of experience.
Knowledge and/or experience with structural dynamics analysis of spacecraft, aircraft, or missiles.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with adjacent disciplines (e.g. systems engineering, aerodynamics, stress analysis, design, test) in a highly integrated team environment.
Proficient in programming and use of MATLAB (or equivalent) for analysis and data manipulation.
Experience in Modal Transient Analysis in Nastran (or equivalent).
Ability to solve static and dynamic structural problems using analytical methods (hand calculations, in-house tools, and 3rd party commercial analytical tools).
Experience running Coupled Loads Analysis (CLA) and/or experience running multi-body dynamics simulations.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering/Structural Mechanics program or equivalent from an accredited college/university.
Experience working strategic or tactical missile programs.
Experience with dynamic (modal) testing and correlation of structures.
Analyzing, Documenting, and Presenting Coupled Loads Analysis (CLA) results in a CDR environment.
Experience with modern FEA substructure modeling and component mode synthesis methods such as Craig-Bampton sub structuring.
Experience with high performance computing, management of large sets of data.
DoD Top Secret Clearance.
Primary Level Salary Range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
