Boeing Brazil is seeking a Flight Control Engineering Manager, reporting to the Airplane Systems Senior Manager, working out of the São José Dos Campos office.
The Flight Control Engineering Manager requires strong technical knowledge of the Flight Control system and leadership ability to manage critical work statement within the team.
The professional will be responsible for managing one or more sub-systems groups within BCA (Boeing Commercial Airplanes) Flight Controls Engineering organization, throughout the entire program’s life cycle phases including development, certification and sustaining phases related to 787, 737MAX, 777X, research and development and future programs, with emphasis on systems safety, testing and requirements development and verification.
Position Responsibilities:
- Managing team priorities, work statement, resources and budget allocation
- People procurement and development
- Oversight of technical decision-making and engineering quality
- Reporting and elevating status to senior management
- Performance management and mentorship of an engineering team
- Coordination with BCA flight control organization on Program Status reporting
- Cross-functional coordination with other organizations such as Avionics, Crew Ops, Airplane Safety, Aero, System Stress, Production Engineering, and Supply Chain
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Must have existing rights to work in Brazil.
- Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia - CREA).
- Must have a degree in Engineering.
- Fluent in both written and verbal English.
- Experience in management or technical leadership role within aerospace industry.
- Knowledge of flight control systems.
Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):
- In depth experience working with aircraft systems safety.
- In depth experience working with aircraft systems testing at laboratory or rig environment.
- In depth experience working with aircraft systems architecture and requirements development.
- In depth experience with aeronautical systems development following ARP4754 standard.
- In depth experience with equipment qualification following RTCA DO-160 standard.
- Experience working within a cross functional team environment.
