JOB SUMMARY:
The Propeller Design Engineer - Intern position is responsible for the design, development and testing of aircraft propeller components and installations. This includes modeling/drafting of parts, assemblies, and installations using Catia V5 and/or V6. Components will include propeller components, including composite and aluminum blades and propeller systems. Design assignments are executed under the direction of the Engineering Supervisor with an emphasis on meeting and or exceeding customer requirements. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages the planning, developing and coordination of important engineering projects.
Coordinates with both internal customers as well as multiple outside suppliers on Design for Manufacturability, cost, and schedule.
Uses advanced techniques and problem solving capabilities to provide technical solutions to a wide range of tasks.
Build prototypes of system components for evaluation and testing.
Assist in the creation of test procedures and coordination of testing.
Works well in a cross-functional and diverse team environment and is able to successfully manage thru a great deal of ambiguity.
Acts as liaison with representatives outside of the assigned group/area.
Actively works to improve daily processes and ensures all work meets or exceeds customer requirements.
Recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company products and processes.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Pursuing a Bachelors degree in one of the following
EXPERIENCE:
Previous professional experience thru an internship or Coop is beneficial.
Professional and diplomatic demeanor
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Strong sense of accountability and integrity
3D graphic design experience is beneficial.
Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.
Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks.
Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
