STS Technical Services is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller for a full-time, on-site position in Savannah, Georgia. The Controller will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving process improvements across the organization. This role requires strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of GAAP, and proficiency with financial systems and reporting tools. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in financial management within a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

• Oversight and responsibility for financial reporting, internal controls, treasury management, tax planning, insurance management, and external audits
• Ensure that reported results comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Lead and optimize all accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with GAAP
• Directly responsible for accounting for day-to-day operations of accounting functions, including GL, AP, AR, and month-, quarter-, and year-end close

• Oversee the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP
• Prepare journal entries as necessary and manage the period close responsibility checklist
• Monitor financial performance, analyze results, and recommend corrective actions

• Prepare monthly and year-to-date cash flow statements
• Prepare and review bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations

• Coordinate with external auditors during audits and ensure compliance with GAAP
• Develop internal audit procedures and oversee ongoing internal audit activities
• Manage and support annual insurance audits

• Manage tax return filing process in accordance with state guidelines for all sales/use and property taxes

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 5+ years of progressive responsibility
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Proficiency with accounting and financial reporting systems
• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
• Willingness to work occasional weekends or evenings as needed
